Long before Capitol Hill became the home of rainbow crosswalks, and before Renton Hill was briefly Seattle’s gay destination in the 1970s, Pioneer Square (as the mudflats are now known) was where all the seedy, secret, same-sex action happened. With Pride season upon us and businesses cautiously re-opening, now might be a nice time to spend some time in Seattle’s traditional gayborhood: The mudflats below the Deadline. GAMES, DJ INFINITE SOUNDS, MOON BOUNCE, ARTS & CRAFTS, PRIZES… and more were available to help make this event a SUCCESS! We were able to gain sponsorships from our local businesses for this event, and we are excited to reintroduce a 4D tradition that helps to unite neighbors, provide fun/safe activities, and celebrate Petworth neighborhoods within ANC 4D.Ĭouncilmember Brandon Todd joined us for the kick-off and we are excited to have his support and presence at this event! 4D Commissioners were onsite to host 4D COMMUNITY FUN DAY and the event was FREE and open to the public. Saturday, September 19th from 11pm-5pm we held 4D Community FUN Day at the Triangle Park located at 9th and Gallatin Streets. THANK YOU in advance for your continued support, and remember to VOTE Tuesday, Nov 8th at Barnard Elementary School located 430 Decatur Street! Supported resolutions that further improved the safety, vibrancy, and advancement of the community.
Facilitates timely reimbursements and receives record allotments from the Office of the Auditor as the 4D Treasurer. Recommended bilingual monthly meeting signage to promote community inclusion. Received timely assistance with trash/snow removal, and pothole repairs. Requested and received illegal dumping signage to deter the collection of trash and debris. Recruited volunteers for the community snow team to help seniors and others in need of assistance. Completed the MPD Citizen Ride-Along Program and increased police visibility. Confirmed sponsorships from local businesses to support community events. Recommended mandatory Quarterly Commissioner Retreats. Co-Hosted the ANC 4D Community Health Fair at the Emery Recreation Center. Jumpstarted the Annual ANC 4D Community Fun Day. Organized a Youth Summer Skate Jam Event co-sponsored by the Mayor’s Office of Community Relations and Services (MOCRS), and the Latin American Youth Center (LAYC). 
Created a community Back-to-School Festival at Barnard ES with 100+ attendees and 10+ resource vendors. Attended regular monthly and special meetings. Emery Heights Chess Girls will be a FREE program and our goal is to relieve parents of any financial stress to enroll participants so that they can focus on supporting their child’s development and having a FUN experience. Emery Heights Chess Girls is in the initial stage and we are asking for additional donations and sponsors that can help us have a successful launch and program for the duration of 9 weeks. We have scheduled an open house on Saturday, March 18th from 12:00pm-1:30pm at the center to provide an overview of the program. Furthermore, with a new site also comes an additional need for start-up resources. Chess Girls DC works tirelessly to engage young players and register them for tournaments on both the local and national levels. Approximately two years ago I was introduced to Chess Girls DC (and I have been in communication with the Founder Robin Floyd-Ransom to extend this amazing program to Ward 4, and over the months we have been able to secure a wonderful space at the community center that will serve as the new site.
